Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 8.00% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.2160 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 7.36% or 0.120 points to end at 1.750 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was up 6.67% or 0.006 points to 0.096 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 5.19% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.512 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 1.69% or 0.015 points to end at 0.870 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) shed 1.67% or 0.30 points to 17.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 30 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.43 to $1301.93 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.32% or 0.67 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.73 to trade at $56.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1839, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 92.83.
