Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Banking and Household sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 7.35% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) added 7.21% or 1.12 points to end at 16.65 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 7.20% or 0.170 points to 2.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 28.57% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.035 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 2.01% or 0.060 points to end at 2.930 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) shed 1.95% or 0.12 points to 6.03.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 52 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 9.32 to $1282.52 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.69% or 0.97 to hit $58.37 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.82% or 1.14 to trade at $63.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1906, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8819.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 92.79.
