Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Household and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 4.58% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.370 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) added 4.40% or 0.040 points to end at 0.950 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 3.99% or 0.230 points to 6.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which lost 20.61% or 0.114 points to trade at 0.439 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 16.43% or 0.0114 points to end at 0.0580 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 7.25% or 0.150 points to 1.920.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1252.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.01% or 0.74 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.51 to trade at $79.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 94.36.
