Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Resources and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 9.26% or 0.250 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.31% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.2380 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 4.65% or 0.014 points to 0.315 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 4.29% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.067 in late trade. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 2.16% or 0.030 points to end at 1.360 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) shed 1.76% or 0.060 points to 3.490.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.59% or 20.88 to $1295.52 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $50.64 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $56.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1926, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.05.
