Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Household and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 6.09% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.244 at the close. Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) added 4.32% or 0.985 points to end at 23.785 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was up 2.97% or 0.415 points to 14.365 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 6.94% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.263 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 4.44% or 0.0600 points to end at 1.2900 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 4.33% or 0.038 points to 0.840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 27 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 3.19 to $1269.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.16 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1861, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8961.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 92.65.
