Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 4.69% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.340 at the close. Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) added 4.26% or 0.06 points to end at 1.57 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 3.81% or 0.400 points to 11.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which lost 2.93% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.650 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 2.65% or 0.030 points to end at 1.090 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) shed 2.04% or 0.090 points to 4.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.48% or 6.20 to $1309.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.46% or 1.28 to hit $53.27 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.27 to trade at $61.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1422, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8692.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.500.
