Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food, Banking and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr), which rose 3.51% or 1.0450 points to trade at 30.7750 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 3.08% or 0.058 points to end at 1.940 and Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) was up 2.94% or 0.005 points to 0.175 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr), which lost 5.51% or 0.0700 points to trade at 1.2000 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 3.32% or 0.0035 points to end at 0.1020 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) shed 2.80% or 0.040 points to 1.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.10 to $1247.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.25% or 0.88 to hit $69.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.20 to trade at $73.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1682, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8834.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 94.48.
