Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 15.38% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.090 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 4.09% or 0.065 points to end at 1.655 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 3.76% or 0.050 points to 1.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 9.67% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.243 in late trade. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) declined 3.61% or 0.024 points to end at 0.640 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) shed 2.31% or 0.54 points to 22.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 46 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.75% or 9.60 to $1294.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.46% or 1.22 to hit $50.80 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 0.92 to trade at $56.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.1810, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8935.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 93.03.
