Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Banking and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.64% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 22.71% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.036 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 8.60% or 0.061 points to end at 0.770 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) was up 6.67% or 0.040 points to 0.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 2.13% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.734 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 0.92% or 0.030 points to end at 3.245 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 0.88% or 0.0200 points to 2.2500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 31 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 3.20 to $1290.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.70% or 0.42 to hit $59.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.57 to trade at $65.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1900, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.59.
