Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr), which rose 9.32% or 0.1100 points to trade at 1.2900 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 5.88% or 0.150 points to end at 2.700 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) was up 5.42% or 0.065 points to 1.265 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr), which lost 2.72% or 0.200 points to trade at 7.150 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 2.66% or 0.0026 points to end at 0.0950 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 2.25% or 0.040 points to 1.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 39 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1221.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.01% or 1.41 to hit $68.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.91 to trade at $74.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1696, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 94.35.
