Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 9.09% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.096 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.42% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.2150 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was up 3.55% or 0.012 points to 0.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which lost 1.79% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.500 in late trade. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 1.57% or 0.040 points to end at 2.530 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 1.29% or 0.009 points to 0.690.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 34 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 5.19 to $1284.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.17 to hit $51.46 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.36 to trade at $57.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1789, while EUR/GBP fell 0.77% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 93.48.
