Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Household, Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 3.47% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.984 at the close. ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) added 3.00% or 0.130 points to end at 4.470 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 2.94% or 0.120 points to 4.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 17.95% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.064 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.86% or 0.018 points to end at 0.289 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 5.52% or 0.009 points to 0.154.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.60 to $1331.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.35 to trade at $54.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1957, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.9010.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 91.91.
