Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Food and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.77% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.186 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 4.60% or 0.029 points to end at 0.659 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 4.35% or 0.050 points to 1.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Korres (AT:KRRr), which lost 4.52% or 0.190 points to trade at 4.010 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 3.30% or 0.003 points to end at 0.088 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 2.88% or 0.040 points to 1.340.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 5.58 to $1277.38 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $53.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.16 to trade at $59.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1634, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 94.46.
