Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Resources and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 15.63% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.074 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 4.35% or 0.98 points to end at 23.50 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 3.46% or 0.010 points to 0.299 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr), which lost 3.42% or 0.835 points to trade at 23.545 in late trade. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 3.38% or 0.050 points to end at 1.450 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 2.70% or 0.040 points to 1.440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.41% or 5.44 to $1327.26 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.41% or 0.68 to hit $48.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.50 to trade at $54.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1908, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 92.30.
