Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has extended its gold mineralisation footprint at the Side Well Gold Project near Meekatharra in Western Australia, where reverse circulation (RC) drilling has returned some of the highest grades outside of the high-grade vein (HGV) area.
Assays have now been received from a series of holes drilled at both the HGV area in the north and the central zone of the Mulga Bill prospect during August and September.
Some of the significant results include:
- 13 metres at 25.50 g/t from 96 metres, including 4 metres at 76.90 g/t from 100 metres, and 5 metres at 8.65 g/t from 182 metres, including 1 metre at 35.40 g/t from 183 metres in 22MBRC061 (HGV area);
- 10 metres at 28.74 g/t from 96 metres, including 4 metres at 29.4 g/t from 96 metres and 1 metre at 121.00 g/t from 101 metres in 22MBRC067 (central zone);
- 14 metres at 5.22 g/t from 92 metres, including 4 metres at 7.56 g/t from 96 metres and 2 metres at 20.47 g/t from 102 metres in 22MBRC069 (central zone);
- 36 metres at 1.17 g/t from 100 metres in 22MBRC075 (HGV area);
- 22 metres at 1.27 g/t from 228 metres, including 4 metres at 4.33 g/t from 246 metres in 22MBRC076 (HGV area); and
- 36 metres at 1.22 g/t from 238 metres, including 8 metres at 2.46 g/t from 262 metres in 22MBRC084 (HGV area).
Drillholes 22MBRC067 and 22MBRC069 contain some of the highest grade intersections outside Mulga Bill’s HGV area.
These holes were drilled into the central zone’s copper-gold-silver zone, with multi-element analyses to be returned in the coming months.

Strong gold anomaly
Great Boulder has also received results from the fourth phase of regional aircore drilling at Ironbark and Loaded Dog. Two free holes were drilled at Flagpole to test the rig configuration.
Standout results include:
- 8 metres at 1.02 g/t from 48 metres in hole 22SWAC264 (Loaded Dog);
- 20 metres at 1.07 g/t from 16 metres in 22SWAC265 (Loaded Dog); and
- 4 metres at 4.24 g/t from 108 metres in 22SWAC316 (Flagpole).
Meanwhile, drilling at Flagpole has added to the geological confidence that high-grade gold is hosted in shallow west-dipping vein sets similar to those seen at Mulga Bill.
Drilling to the west, east and south of Ironbark did not return any significant gold mineralisation but pathfinder anomalism indicates the structure thought to be controlling the gold at Ironbark may be open.

Busy period ahead
“These results demonstrate exciting upside across a number of prospects,” Great Boulder managing director Andrew Paterson said.
“Firstly, we have some extremely high-grade results in the central area of Mulga Bill, which has seen less drilling than the HGV area. These hits highlight the potential for additional high-grade zones to the south.
“Secondly, we have extended the HGV area further north and opened up the potential that it may continue north of the cross-cutting Proterozoic dyke. This area remains relatively untested by RC drilling, so there is a lot of scope for extensions in that direction.
“Thirdly, the intersections on our new eastern high-grade lode discovery from a small number of test holes provide confidence in our geological model and targeting process.
“Lastly, and significantly, is the ongoing identification of new targets coming from our AC drilling. With new areas to test at Flagpole, Loaded Dog and Ironbark South, we have a very busy program ahead of us.”
Forward plan
RC drilling will continue at Ironbark pending the results of the fourth phase of drilling.
At Ironbark South, drilling operations are now paused while the latest results are being evaluated and reconnaissance work is completed.
