Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) is set to build out the already sizeable Mulga Bill deposit at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia with resource growth drilling intersecting sub-vertical gold mineralisation outside the current resource boundary.

The mineralisation extends to the west in what GBR believes is an extension of the Malvern Lodes defined within the Central Zone further to the south.

Highlights included 4 metres at 6.46 g/t gold from 88 metres and 19 metres at 1.25 g/t gold from 232 metres, with higher-grade sections of 5 metres at 2.28 g/t gold and 4 metres at 2.75 g/t gold from between 240 and 247 metres.

Mulga Bill continues to grow

“These nine reverse circulation (RC) holes were designed to test sub-vertical Malvern Lodes on the western side of Mulga Bill and also at depth below the current resource,” Great Boulder Resources managing director Andrew Paterson said.

“We’ve intersected a new area of gold mineralisation which appears to be an extension to sub-vertical lodes previously defined further south.

“These results mean we will be able to add ounces to the resource at relatively shallow depths with simple tabular lode-style geometry.

“This represents a strike extension to this lode of approximately 350 metres, which highlights the fact that Mulga Bill continues to surprise on the upside as we continue drilling.

“The results have also increased gold grades in the supergene horizon in several areas and extended the known Malvern lodes at depth in the 'link zone' between Mulga Bill’s Central and High-Grade Vein areas with results including 19 metres at 1.25 g/t gold.”

Other results of note from this drilling program include:

  • 3 metres at 3.07 g/t gold from 76 metres; and
  • 6 metres at 2.17 g/t from 80 metres, including 2 metres at 4.06 g/t from 80 metres.

GBR’s resource definition drilling at the Saltbush prospect is also complete, with the RC rig returning to Mulga Bill North to continue drilling toward a maiden resource estimate for that prospect.

The company is also anticipating maiden aircore drilling results from the high-priority Side Well South prospect, with results expected in the coming weeks.
