West African gold explorer Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) has hit some broad intersections of gold mineralisation at the Bereko and Massan prospects of the Kada Gold Project in Guinea.
The company completed 16 diamond drill (DD) holes for more than 2,500 metres of drilling, with eight maiden holes at Bereko and eight more at Massan.
“Assays returned so far have been encouraging, particularly at Massan, as we have uncovered further mineralisation down-dip within the MRE area and have twinned some of our best reverse circulation (RC) results to strengthen our geologic confidence,” Golden Rim Resources managing director Tim Strong said.
Mineral resource estimates incoming
“In conjunction with this DD drilling campaign, we engaged a leading structural consultant to complete a comprehensive and detailed review of the Bereko and Massan drill holes prior to assaying, and as a result, we now are eagerly moving forward with a strengthened geologic understanding of mineralisation,” Strong continued.
“We expect to finish diamond drilling in the coming weeks, with assay results following shortly thereafter. We anticipate delivering a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) for Bereko and an updated MRE at Massan later in 2023.”
The maiden and updated MREs are expected to add to Kada’s current mineral resource of 930,000 ounces of gold.
Results from Massan include:
- 11 metres at 2.9 g/t gold from 29 metres, including 1-metre at 20.1 g/t gold from 30 metres;
- 23 metres at 0.9 g/t gold from 25 metres, and 26 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 129 metres;
- 19 metres at 1.4 g/t gold from 73 metres, including 5 metres at 3.9 g/t gold from 85 metres
- 39 metres at 0.7 g/t gold from 200 metres;
- 9 metres at 2.2 g/t gold from 42 metres, including 2 metres at 8.8 g/t gold from 47 metres;
- 7 metres at 1.9 g/t gold from 55 metres; and,
- 6 metres at 1.8 g/t gold from 9 metres.
At Bereko, the standout result was 7 metres at 2.0 g/t gold from 47 metres.
Golden Rim has also extended the diamond drilling campaign at Kada to 4,200 metres to follow up new zones of mineralisation discovered in an early 2023 program – some 3,814 metres have already been drilled to date.
GMR shares have been as much as 19.4% higher intraday to A$0.037.
