West African gold explorer Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) is on track with a mineral resource estimate (MRE) update for the Massan prospect within its flagship Kada Gold Project in Guinea in the next quarter after fielding new broad assays of up to 64 metres at 1.1 g/t gold.

Results from the final eight diamond drill (DD) holes totalling 1,887.3 metres completed at Massan for the 2022-2023 drill campaign also featured a 16-metre intersection grading 3.0 g/t gold from 79 metres, including 5.3 g/t over 6 metres from 81 metres.

Encouraged

“We are pleased to announce the return of encouraging new results from the final batch of drilling for our 2022-23 field season,” Golden Rim managing director Tim Strong said.

“It has been a very busy few months at Kada, with diamond, RC and aircore drilling undertaken, totalling 18.74 kilometres.

“Diamond drilling has continued to provide crucial structural information, as well as intersecting significant mineralisation at the emerging Bereko prospect.

“We also twinned a number of previously drilled RC holes with DD, providing broad confidence in the overall widths and grades intersected in the former.

“Modelling is now progressing as we expect to deliver an updated MRE at Massan, along with a maiden MRE for Bereko during the next quarter.

Diamond drilling at Kada began in February this year, consisting of maiden DD holes at Bereko and further DD drilling at Massan.

Standout assays from the final eight holes drilled at Massan include:

  • MSDD011 - 64 metres at 1.1 g/t gold from 110 metres, including 6 metres at 5.1 g/t from 151 metres;
  • MSDD010 - 16 metres at 3.0 g/t from 79 metres, including 6 metres at 5.3 g/t from 81 metres; 10 metres at 2.8 g/t from 115 metres; and 5 metres at 2.9 g/t from 145 metres;
  • MSDD008 - 29 metres at 1.2 g/t from 23 metres, including 6 metres at 3.7 g/t from 37 metres; 37 metres at 0.7 g/t from 161 metres; and 33 metres at 0.9 g/t from 211 metres;
  • MSDD012 - 12 metres at 1.5 g/t from 83 metres; 18 metres at 1.0 g/t from 144 metres, including 5 metres at 2.7 g/t from 151 metres; and
  • MSDD013 - 14 metres at 1.8 g/t from 26 metres, including 4 metres at 5.5 g/t from 28 metres; and 42 metres at 0.6 g/t from 119 metres.
More discoveries to come

“The season has been a huge success, with continuing strong results from the established Massan and Bereko prospects, as well as the discovery of an exciting new prospect at Sounkoun, 13 kilometres southwest of Massan," Strong said.

“Based on these results, we are of the view that there is significant growth potential at Kada and believe that there are still a lot of ounces to be discovered as we continue to explore the extent of the highly prospective Kada project.”
