Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) continues to identify shallow, broad gold zones during drilling at Bereko and Massan prospects within the Kada Gold Project in Guinea.
Standout assays from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Bereko include:
- 9 metres at 2.8 g/t gold from 10 metres, including 4 metres at 5.7 g/t from 14 metres;
- 46 metres at 0.6 g/t from 21 metres, including 9 metres at 1.2 g/t from 36 metres; and
- 13 metres at 1.3 g/t from 36 metres, including 3 metres at 4.2 g/t from 36 metres.
- 56 metres at 1.7 g/t gold from 0 metres, including 12 metres at 3.1 g/t from 24 metres;
- 13 metres at 2.1 g/t from 76 metres; and
- 7 metres at 2.0 g/t from 0 metres.
Diamond drilling is also progressing well at both prospects and is expected to significantly improve Golden Rim’s understanding of the structural controls on mineralisation.
“Exciting opportunity”
GMR managing director Tim Strong said: “After field mapping identified numerous ENE-trending veins around the Bereko artisanal mining area, we consequently drilled four NW-trending holes proximal to the workings, for a greater 3D understanding of this recent discovery.
“Each hole intercepted >10-metre wide zones of mineralisation, further evidence that this area represents an exciting opportunity to add ounces to the gold inventory at Kada.”
Drill program
GMR kicked off a 10,000-metre RC drilling program at Kada in mid-December 2022.
The program comprised exploration drilling at the Bereko Prospect and north of the MRE area within the Massan Prospect, as well as some resource extension and infill drilling around the margins of the MRE.
Forward plan
RC drilling at Bereko and Massan is now complete, with assays pending for the final seven holes across at Massan.
Three RC holes have also been drilled at both the Nounkoun and Sounkou prospects.
Results for these holes and the final three trenches at Massan are expected during April.
Golden Rim also has begun a 3,500-metre diamond drilling campaign on the Kada permit and a 5,000-metre aircore drilling exploration program, testing newly identified targets on the Kada and Bamfele permits.
At Bereko, diamond drilling is focused on confirming the width, grade and extensions of the gold mineralisation discovered in the initial RC drilling program and providing structural information needed for resource estimation.
Diamond drilling at Massan is testing open-ended mineralisation at depth, as well as providing further certainty to progress the mineral resource towards a higher confidence classification.
Shares higher
Golden Rim shares have been as much as 19.4% higher intraday on the ASX to $A0.037.
