Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) has returned further broad oxide gold hits including 57 metres at 1.1 g/t from the final reverse circulation holes at Massan mineral resource estimate (MRE) area of the flagship Kada Gold Project in Guinea.
Standout assays include:
- 57 metres at 1.1 g/t gold from 0 metres, including 10 metres at 2.3 g/t from 3 metres;
- 41 metres at 0.6 g/t from 61 metres; and
- 95 metres at 0.6 g/t from 18 metres, including 17 metres at 1.3 g/t from 75 metres.
Looking ahead, preparations for an updated MRE at Massan and a maiden Bereko MRE are on track for delivery in 2023, with Massan already boasting a resource of 930,000 ounces.
“Great success”
Golden Rim’s managing director Tim Strong said: “After extensive field mapping and trenching indicated more gold mineralisation within and around the mineral resource area, we opted to drill these additional 14 RC holes at Massan, aimed at either confirming new structures noted during the trenching or obtaining additional information in areas of poorer data density.
“RC drilling at Massan and Bereko has been a great success, with every hole intercepting significant gold mineralisation, including several high-grade intercepts.
“Excitingly, we have intercepted broad zones of gold mineralisation in multiple drilling orientations, bolstering our working understanding of the geologic controls on mineralisation.
“We will use this new data, along with the valuable information from our ongoing DD drilling program, to deliver an MRE update later in 2023.”
Drill program
GMR kicked off a 10,000-metre RC drilling program at Kada in mid-December 2022.
The program comprised exploration drilling at the Bereko Prospect and north of the MRE area within the Massan Prospect, as well as some resource extension and infill drilling around the margins of the MRE.
In addition, a 3,500-metre diamond drilling program testing open mineralisation and providing structural information began in March 2023, and a 3,000-metre aircore drilling program targeting discoveries is now complete.
Forward plan
Diamond drilling is ongoing to confirm the width, grade and structural controls on mineralisation in Bereko and Massan.
Consequently, this will provide further certainty to progress the mineral resource towards a higher confidence classification.
The first results from diamond drilling are expected later this month.
