Global Lithium Resources Ltd (ASX:GL1) has signed a land access agreement with the Kakarra Part B native title claim group, paving the way to accelerate exploration at its Manna Lithium Project in Western Australia’s Goldfields.
The agreement is the multi-asset lithium company’s commitment to ensure that the exploration and development of the project aligns with cultural heritage considerations, which in turn contributes to the region’s sustainable growth.
Respectful engagement
GL1 managing director Ron Mitchell met with the registered native title claimants in Kalgoorlie to finalise the agreement.
The parties also discussed the development of a native title mining agreement to support the project's future investment decision and development.
"It is a pleasure to be building a relationship with the Kakarra people as the traditional landowners for the Manna Lithium Project,” Mitchell said.
“Global Lithium is committed to developing a fair, reasonable, and mutually beneficial native title mining agreement in partnership with Kakarra Part B, and we look forward to building a long-term partnership with the Kakarra people through ongoing exploration, development, and operation of the Manna Lithium Project."
Lithium focus
GL1's primary focus is on the 100%-owned Marble Bar Lithium Project in the Pilbara region and the Manna Lithium Project in the Goldfields.
It has now defined a total inferred and indicated mineral resource of 50.7 million tonnes at 1.0% Li2O at the Marble Bar and Manna projects, confirming the company as a significant global lithium player aiming to fast-track into development.
