Global Lithium Resources Ltd (ASX:GL1) is on a roll with high-grade lithium hits from the recently completed resource infill and expansion drilling program at Manna Lithium Project 100 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
The Manna Central deposit has delivered the company's best drill intercept to date of 26 metres at 1.53% lithium oxide (Li2O) from 249 metres.
During 2023, the company completed more than 60,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD) at the Manna Project in the Goldfields region.
The 2023 exploration program comprised 221 holes, resulting in about 25,000 samples dispatched for analysis. Currently, assay results for 92 of these holes, encompassing around 9,500 samples, are pending.
GL1 expects the assay outcomes during the March quarter of 2024, with the results slated for inclusion in the Manna definitive feasibility study (DFS).
“Significant potential”
GL1 exploration manager Logan Barber said: “The Manna Lithium Project is demonstrating significant potential for further extensions to the main resource area.
“The current resource is still open along strike, to the SW and NE, and in areas at depth. We look forward to receiving further assay results over the coming months to feed into an updated mineral resource estimate, which will form part of the Manna DFS results.
“We are also progressing plans for further exploration drilling in 2024 with the aim of better understanding the full potential of the Manna Lithium Deposit.”
Manna Central
Resource infill drilling at the Manna Central resource area continues to demonstrate continuity and deliver high-grade infill drilling results including:
- 26 metres at 1.53% Li2O from 249 metres;
- 15 metres at 1.58% from 251 metres; and
- 13 metres at 1.34% from 75 metres.
Key sections of the central Manna resource are now infilled to a 40 by 40-metre spacing to support mine planning and a mineral resource estimate (MRE) update.
Manna North
Drilling in the Manna north-eastern extension area has intersected significant intercepts outside of the current resource, with this drilling extending mineralisation, including:
- 22 metres at 1.03% Li2O from 461 metres;
- 15 metres at 1.11% from 468 metres; and
- 10 metres at 1.61% from 317 metres.
Assays results from drilling targeted to confirm shallow extensions of mineralisation along strike to the northeast are pending.
A separate underground mine study is underway focusing on the Manna North lithium mineralisation.
Manna South
Step-out exploration drilling suggests a potential new zone of mineralised pegmatite undercover to the southwest of the Manna Central resource area.
Standout assays include:
- 11 metres at 0.64% Li2O from 173 metres;
- 6 metres at 0.93% from 161 metres; and
- 4 metres at 0.64% from 137 metres.
Follow-up drilling to target up dip and strike extensions is planned for 2024.
