Australian healthcare application provider Global Health Ltd (ASX:GLH) has partnered with Woolworths Group’s subsidiary HealthyLife with its initiative to implement a new telehealth service.

Virtual access to health professionals

The service is providing convenient, virtual access to healthcare practitioners via a network of GPs, dietitians, nutritionists and in-house naturopaths.

Global Health supports HealthyLife’s goal of encouraging proactive consumer involvement in conjunction with its healthcare team, which pairs well with Global Health’s vision of connecting clinicians and consumers across the country and streamlining the delivery of important healthcare services.

The company believes this will deliver better patient health outcomes across a variety of health environments, including in acute and community settings.

Rise of telehealth

Following the COVID-19 pandemic the use of telehealth rapidly scaled up, with more than 85 million telehealth services provided to more than 16 million individuals as of September 2022.

Through the pandemic’s disruption to traditional health-based care settings, telehealth was woven into the fabric of healthcare delivery in Australia and platforms such as Global Health’s software as a service (SaaS) platforms empowered patients to access critical care across a variety of settings in Australia.

This direction was strongly supported by the Australian Government, through programs such as mental health care plans, and continues to provide convenience to patients who cannot travel for their regular GP visits.

HealthyLife works with Global Health to provide a third-party platform that connects customers with qualified service providers including GPs, dietitians and nutritionists.

Global Health will be supplying the following SaaS platforms for HealthyLife:

  • Hothealth for online forms, online appointments and telehealth consults;
  • ReferralNet for secure messaging;
  • M+ for allied health practitioners; and
  • Primary Clinic (hosted) for GPs.
Global Health believes this partnership highlights the strong confidence in world’s best practice services that Global Health provides and in the company’s first-class healthcare software.

“Our engagement with the HealthyLife team throughout the implementation of the new Telehealth service has been outstanding,” managing director Mathew Cherian said.

“Over the past three years, Telehealth has been at the forefront of consumers’ minds all across Australia and has been an easy and safe way for patients to access health care providers in times where they aren’t able to access their regular practitioners.

“HealthyLife’s goal of encouraging proactive consumer involvement in conjunction with their healthcare team is strongly aligned to our vision of connecting clinicians and consumers.”
