Global Health Ltd (ASX:GLH) has started the commercial rollout of its MasterCare Discharge Summary SaaS solution for hospitals.

The rollout follows the completion of an initial two early adopter sites.

MasterCare Discharge Summary is a module within GLH’s multi-tenanted SaaS platform hosted on Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure Infrastructure in Australia. It gives hospitals the ability to collate clinical information and compile a discharge summary for uploading to a patient’s My Health Record for a given inpatient episode of care.

Essentially it streamlines patient care, particularly in relation to discharge and importantly it complies to the accreditation and legislative requirements mandated by the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) for all hospitals in Australia.

Cost-effective first step

GLH’s solution is a cost-effective first step to help hospitals fully integrate into the digital clinical MasterCare Inpatient Electronic Medical Record (iEMR).

Currently, there are six private hospitals engaged in implementations generating approximately $70,000 in additional ARR and more than $100,000 in implementation services for GLH.

“We are investing in our next generation of digital health SaaS platforms such as MasterCare in a considered manner to progressively upgrade our acute community health and ambulatory care customers, by providing value-add digital modules integrated to their existing on-premises applications,” said Global Health managing director Mathew Cherian.

“Our goal is to establish a more affordable solution that will benefit the Australian hospital and health care sector as a whole and position our solutions favourably in new under-served markets locally, and overseas.”

What do MasterCare Discharge Summaries do?

MasterCare Discharge Summaries ensure a patient’s continuity of care.

Discharge information is shared across the patient’s team of medical and allied health providers, using Global Health’s ReferralNet Secure Message Delivery (SMD) platform which conforms with Australian Digital Health Agency’s Secure Messaging standard.

This value-add module integrated via the MasterCare FHIR Interoperability platform to existing MasterCare Patient Administration System (PAS) customers comes as part of GLH’s embrace of the international FHIR standard.

This is the integration standard of choice for connectivity between GLH’s various internal platforms and connectivity between its digital platforms with third-party external systems wherever possible.

It allows for a 'best-of-breed' approach, meaning new customers can use alternative PAS systems to extend the life of their investments while adopting new digital platforms like MasterCare Discharge Summaries and the more comprehensive MasterCare Inpatient EMR.

Once GLH has completed its rollout to existing MasterCare PAS customers, it will shift focus to the wider community of hospitals required to upload discharge summaries to the Australian Government’s My Health Record.
