Galileo Mining demonstrates increasing palladium grades at depth in Callisto discovery at Norseman

Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX:GAL) has completed a further 25 diamond-drilled holes at the Callisto multi-element discovery of the Norseman Project in Western Australia, revealing palladium grade is increasing in grade as the company drills deeper along with platinum, gold, copper and nickel

One hole, NRCD279, presented particularly interesting results, including:

  • 5 metres at 3.28 g/t 3E (2.64 g/t palladium, 0.46 g/t platinum, 0.18 g/t gold), 0.54% copper and 0.45% nickel from 265 metres;
  • 4 metres at 1.77 g/t 3E (1.43 g/t palladium, 0.27 g/t platinum, 0.07 g/t gold), 0.31% copper and 0.28% nickel from 274 metres; and,
  • 21 metres at 0.89 g/t 3E (0.71 g/t palladium, 0.14 g/t platinum, 0.03 g/t gold), 0.15% copper and 0.21% nickel from 238 metres.

“The first results related to the massive sulphide hit in NRCD293, and today’s announcement is based on the disseminated sulphide lower zone at Callisto where 3E grades above 3 g/t were intercepted over a five-metre interval.

“As well as higher palladium numbers it is significant to note that the platinum, gold, copper and nickel values are also increasing in this new zone.

Diamond drilling has also included three twin core holes, designed to produce early-stage metallurgical test-work samples.

The company expects further results from this round of drilling as well as regional drilling to the north to be delivered from mid-November onwards.

Mineralised corridor remains open

“The lower palladium seam appears to be related to a flatter lying part of the stratigraphy where mineralisation gently dips to the east at an estimated depth of 250 metres below surface,” Underwood continued.

“The distance between the westernmost drill hole with significant assays (NRC309) and NRCD279 is over 500 metres. This corridor remains open in both directions and with over five kilometres of prospective rocks to explore to the north.

“Much more drilling is required to determine the full extent and grade of palladium and other metals in the Callisto region.

“With over 20 diamond core drill holes undertaken to date we believe that the potential for further success continues to be exceptional. We look forward to updating the market as additional results become available.”

Galileo continues to aggressively explore Callisto with both reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drills at work along its 5 kilometres of prospective strike.
