Forrestania Resources Ltd (ASX:FRS) has mobilised a reverse circulation (RC) drilling rig to its flagship Forrestania Project in Western Australia, poised to drill for lithium at high-priority targets.
The company intends to complete 3,000 to 4,000 metres of RC drilling over the three prospects, with a particular focus on the Calypso target:
Calypso – FRS will undertake maiden drilling in a bid to define the extent of pegmatites identified from mapping and historic drilling to investigate whether they host lithium mineralisation.
South Iron Cap East – the company will follow up on encouraging geochemistry results returned from pegmatites intersected in its previous drilling campaign.
Giant – drilling will test the down-dip extent of high-grade lithium mineralisation (10 metres at 1.49% lithium) intersected in the company’s previous drilling campaign. Additionally, the strike continuation of the Giant pegmatite body will be tested to the south.
Carefully refined and targeted program
“We are extremely excited to see what this latest drilling program will uncover across three of our highest priority targets,” Forrestania Resources managing director Michael Anderson said.
“The drilling represents a carefully refined and targeted program – a testament to our exploration strategy which is continually being optimised through results analysis, investigation into historical data and observations in the field.
“We remain confident that the Forrestania project remains highly prospective for a significant lithium discovery.”
