Flynn Gold Ltd (ASX:FG1) has doubled down on lithium and gold mineralisation at its Mt Dove exploration property in Western Australia.

The explorer pinpointed 11 lithium anomalies during an ultra-fine (UFF) soil sampling program over the Mt Dove exploration licence and encountered anomalous gold geochemistry along the way.

One lithium anomaly of note extends 1,200 metres by 400 metres and hosts coincident pathfinder trace elements (such as tin, rubidium and caesium), making it a high-priority target.

Follow-up soil sampling and a geophysics program are planned to follow up on the gold and lithium hits in the near future.

Exploring “without delay”

Flynn Gold CEO Neil Marston said: “The company’s first exploration activity for lithium and gold has been completed at our Mount Dove Project in the mineral-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.

“We are very pleased with these ultra-fine soil sampling results as several lithium anomalies have been identified to follow-up, including a 1.2-kilometre high-priority target, which may represent a lithium-pegmatite association.

“Follow-up geophysical assessment and infill sampling will be undertaken at Mount Dove ahead of further exploration of this largely unexplored project.

“Flynn has secured a significant landholding in Western Australia with several of our recent tenement applications located close to world-class lithium deposits.

“We have recently initiated historical data collection and desktop geophysical studies on these projects so that as the tenements are granted, we can commence fieldwork, exploring for lithium and other battery metals without delay.”

Next steps

Flynn believes its newfound lithium and gold delineated warrant further development and extension.

To do this, it plans to undertake further infill sampling, which may lead to targets for initial shallow drill testing.

Follow-up exploration at Mt Dove is poised to infill all gold (arsenic) and lithium (caesium-rubidium-tin-tantalum) targets with a 200-metre by 200-metre UFF soil sampling program to better define anomalies and zonation trends.

To support this work, Flynn is out to acquire and process multi-client aeromagnetic data, which will help with interpretation and identifying potential intrusive-related targets.

A detailed gravity survey will also be considered to assist with targeting and interpretation, but Flynn will keep the ASX updated on its next steps.
