Flynn Gold Ltd (ASX:FG1) continues to showcase the glittering potential of its Golden Ridge Project in northeast Tasmania with the further discovery of high-grade gold at the Trafalgar prospect, extending the gold system to more than 8 kilometres long.
The latest results from ongoing drilling at Trafalgar showed multiple high-grade vein zones in most drill holes, with broad zones of stockwork-style veining now adding to its growing scale and potential.
Significantly, the new assay results have now extended the prospect’s gold system to 350 metres in length and 420 metres from surface, with mineralisation open in all directions.
Breaking it down
Flynn has completed a total of 13 drill holes for 4,526 metres to date at Trafalgar, including step-out diamond drill holes to test the extent and continuity of the gold vein system following the completion of a Phase 1 program in February.
Standout intercepts from the latest results include:
- TFDD011 - 2.1 metres at 8.28 g/t gold from 111.9 metres, including 1.3 metres at 11.86 g/t from 111.9 metres; and
- TFDD008 - 4 metres at 3.15 g/t from 166.1 metres, including 1-metre at 10.75 g/t from 166.1 metres; and 94.1 metres at 0.44 g/t from 202 metres, including 49.55 metres at 0.67 g/t from 246.55 metres and 11.45 metres at 1.30 g/t from 266.1 metres.

A significant gold system
“Flynn Gold continues delivering high-grade gold intersections from its ongoing drilling program at the Trafalgar prospect in northeast Tasmania,” Flynn chief executive officer Neil Marston said.
“The latest drilling results confirm the continuation of high-grade gold mineralisation further east than previously observed, with the east-west strike length now extending beyond 350 metres.
“The latest intervals observed within the sediments surrounding the Golden Ridge granodiorite include mineralised zones increasing in width, with broad zones of stockwork style veining, similar to the 10-million-ounce Fort Knox deposit in Alaska, which is also a very good sign that Trafalgar is indeed a significant gold system that is open in all directions.
“With the latest drill holes still to be assayed, we look forward to announcing further results in the coming weeks.”
In the meantime, the company has started planning for a wide step-out drill program to test the continuity of mineralisation between the Brilliant and Trafalgar prospects, forming a strike length of about 2.5 kilometres.
