Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 0.04% or 0.01 points to trade at 28.28 at the close. Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) fell 0.09% or 0.010 points to end at 11.380 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was down 0.09% or 0.005 points to 5.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 4.49% or 0.3150 points to trade at 6.6950 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 2.62% or 0.165 points to end at 6.135 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 2.12% or 0.145 points to 6.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 48 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $46.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.54% or 0.24 to hit $44.49 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.59% or 20.23 to trade at $1255.67 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1144, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 97.50.
