Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which rose 1.03% or 0.47 points to trade at 46.24 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 0.61% or 0.35 points to end at 57.60 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) was up 0.51% or 0.23 points to 45.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 4.19% or 0.3100 points to trade at 7.0800 in late trade. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) declined 2.65% or 0.99 points to end at 36.38 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 2.19% or 0.130 points to 5.815.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 55 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.62% or 1.37 to $50.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.60% or 1.29 to hit $48.37 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.51 to trade at $1267.61 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1233, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.95.
