Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 0.48% or 0.36 points to trade at 74.88 at the close. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) fell 0.09% or 0.04 points to end at 42.89 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was down 0.21% or 0.04 points to 18.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which lost 3.00% or 0.95 points to trade at 30.75 in late trade. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) declined 2.53% or 0.375 points to end at 14.425 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) shed 2.32% or 0.73 points to 30.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 41 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.22% or 0.88 to $72.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.27% or 0.85 to hit $67.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1220.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.03% to 1.1409, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.8937.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.72% at 96.15.
