Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.18% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which rose 0.74% or 0.38 points to trade at 51.74 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 0.68% or 0.0360 points to end at 5.3020 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 0.49% or 0.08 points to 16.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 4.21% or 0.316 points to trade at 7.182 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) declined 3.01% or 0.94 points to end at 30.31 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 2.32% or 0.400 points to 16.855.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 47 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.40% or 1.05 to $73.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $65.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.20 to trade at $1270.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1600, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8759.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.57.
