Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 1.91% or 0.77 points to trade at 41.16 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.28% or 0.0660 points to end at 5.2180 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was up 1.23% or 0.049 points to 4.019 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 1.88% or 0.31 points to trade at 16.19 in late trade. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 1.67% or 0.52 points to end at 30.57 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 1.58% or 0.150 points to 9.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 64 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.33% or 0.26 to $78.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.50 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8819.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.24.
