Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 1.86% or 0.115 points to trade at 6.285 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.50% or 0.29 points to end at 19.97 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 0.95% or 0.050 points to 5.314 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA), which lost 4.10% or 1.23 points to trade at 28.77 in late trade. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) declined 2.21% or 0.65 points to end at 28.72 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) shed 2.21% or 0.66 points to 29.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 61 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.37% or 0.84 to $60.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.47% or 0.78 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.25 to trade at $1284.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8719.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 95.713.
