Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 5.94% or 0.4150 points to trade at 7.4050 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 3.57% or 0.215 points to end at 6.235 and Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) was up 2.60% or 0.290 points to 11.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which lost 0.58% or 0.26 points to trade at 44.28 in late trade. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 0.17% or 0.06 points to end at 34.44 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) shed 0.12% or 0.04 points to 33.89.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 51 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.39% or 0.68 to $49.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.65% or 0.76 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.52% or 18.87 to trade at $1223.43 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 95.93.
