Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which rose 2.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.110 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) added 1.78% or 0.11 points to end at 6.28 and Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) was up 1.71% or 0.140 points to 8.345 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 2.12% or 0.088 points to trade at 4.064 in late trade. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) declined 1.42% or 0.56 points to end at 38.78 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) shed 1.11% or 0.43 points to 38.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 72 and 22 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.88% or 0.94 to $49.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.97% or 1.43 to hit $46.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.15% or 15.45 to trade at $1330.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1259, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8507.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.77.
