Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 2.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 6.12% or 0.345 points to trade at 5.980 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 6.05% or 4.14 points to end at 72.54 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 5.50% or 0.1930 points to 3.7020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 0.32% or 0.12 points to trade at 36.81 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) added 0.08% or 0.03 points to end at 38.46 and Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) gained 0.77% or 0.38 points to 49.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 51 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.11% or 0.67 to $60.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.91% or 0.47 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1250.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1366, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8991.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 97.005.
