Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.43% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 5.66% or 0.2110 points to trade at 3.9380 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 3.57% or 0.131 points to end at 3.799 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 3.30% or 1.19 points to 37.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 0.21% or 0.03 points to trade at 14.53 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 0.16% or 0.010 points to end at 6.440 and YIT Oyj (HE:YIT) gained 0.38% or 0.02 points to 5.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 56 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.54% or 0.34 to $62.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.30% or 0.71 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1318.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1409, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.805.
