Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which rose 2.79% or 1.01 points to trade at 37.18 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 2.59% or 0.290 points to end at 11.480 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 2.35% or 0.53 points to 23.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 1.00% or 0.065 points to trade at 6.430 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 0.66% or 0.24 points to end at 36.31 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) shed 0.60% or 0.35 points to 58.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.67% or 0.36 to $54.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.15 to trade at $1332.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1971, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.9015.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 91.84.
