Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 4.96% or 0.88 points to trade at 18.63 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 2.17% or 0.66 points to end at 31.02 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was up 1.78% or 0.33 points to 18.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 1.52% or 0.0880 points to trade at 5.7120 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 0.73% or 0.065 points to end at 8.805 and Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) shed 0.55% or 0.050 points to 9.055.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 56 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.28% or 1.69 to $72.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.72% or 1.18 to hit $67.58 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.10 to trade at $1217.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1664, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.46.
