Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 1.76% or 0.50 points to trade at 28.94 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 1.52% or 0.220 points to end at 14.725 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 1.52% or 0.0980 points to 6.5420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 0.87% or 0.40 points to trade at 45.52 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.86% or 0.23 points to end at 26.40 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) shed 0.69% or 0.027 points to 3.889.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 66 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.51% or 1.65 to $64.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.75% or 1.72 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 9.10 to trade at $1326.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.2393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 89.69.
