Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS), which rose 4.71% or 1.00 points to trade at 22.23 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 2.38% or 0.60 points to end at 25.83 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 2.31% or 0.150 points to 6.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which lost 1.94% or 0.59 points to trade at 29.90 in late trade. Valmt (HE:VALMT) declined 1.25% or 0.20 points to end at 15.78 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 1.17% or 0.60 points to 50.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 59 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.80% or 1.14 to $62.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.86% or 1.08 to hit $56.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 11.25 to trade at $1283.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1862, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.10.
