Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1), which rose 4.47% or 0.169 points to trade at 3.949 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 2.54% or 0.185 points to end at 7.480 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.04% or 0.1640 points to 8.2080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 0.54% or 0.021 points to trade at 3.875 in late trade. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 0.25% or 0.14 points to end at 55.66 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) shed 0.18% or 0.10 points to 54.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 51 and 22 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.11% or 0.08 to $70.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.87% or 0.57 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 10.40 to trade at $1352.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.2426, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 88.84.
