Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 6.04% or 0.335 points to trade at 5.880 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.86% or 0.34 points to end at 18.94 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.84% or 0.35 points to 19.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 2.15% or 0.62 points to trade at 28.28 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 1.61% or 0.51 points to end at 31.26 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) shed 0.81% or 0.20 points to 24.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 70 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.10% or 1.24 to $60.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.67% or 1.35 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.35 to trade at $1287.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1389, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8944.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 95.822.
