Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which rose 2.80% or 0.395 points to trade at 14.505 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 1.95% or 0.140 points to end at 7.325 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.73% or 0.78 points to 45.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 0.99% or 0.047 points to trade at 4.706 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.52% or 0.14 points to end at 26.63 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) shed 0.34% or 0.14 points to 40.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 51 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $65.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.34% or 0.21 to hit $62.36 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.33% or 17.50 to trade at $1337.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.2404, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 89.58.
