Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which rose 3.39% or 1.46 points to trade at 44.50 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 1.43% or 0.255 points to end at 18.050 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.40% or 0.62 points to 44.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tieto Oyj (HE:TIETO), which lost 1.73% or 0.52 points to trade at 29.54 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 1.33% or 0.067 points to end at 4.967 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) shed 1.22% or 0.25 points to 20.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 64 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.69% or 0.52 to $74.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.37% or 0.90 to hit $64.62 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.10 to trade at $1303.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 93.54.
