Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 2.70% or 0.255 points to trade at 9.715 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 2.17% or 0.360 points to end at 16.985 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 2.07% or 0.62 points to 30.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 3.11% or 0.214 points to trade at 6.678 in late trade. KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) declined 2.77% or 1.23 points to end at 43.20 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) shed 1.29% or 0.30 points to 22.91.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 70 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.25% or 1.68 to $76.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.60% or 2.45 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.30 to trade at $1262.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1665, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 94.23.
