Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 5.81% or 1.88 points to trade at 34.26 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 2.34% or 1.26 points to end at 55.06 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 2.09% or 1.14 points to 55.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 15.00% or 1.2180 points to trade at 6.9000 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 2.59% or 0.103 points to end at 3.877 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) shed 1.58% or 0.52 points to 32.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 59 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $68.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.50 to trade at $1339.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.2429, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 88.88.
