Emmerson Resources Ltd (ASX:ERM) fielded several bonanza-grade gold results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Golden Forty historical mine of the Tennant Creek Project in the Northern Territory, identifying a very high-grade plunge mineralised extension of the existing underground mine workings.
Results from this section include:
- 28 metres at 28.3 g/t gold from 141 metres, including 9 metres at 84.6 g/t gold and 1.14% bismuth from 145 metres, which included 4 metres at 109 g/t gold and 2.08% bismuth from 145 metres;
- 3 metres at 8 g/t gold from 132 metres, including 1-metre at 16.2 g/t from 133 metres;
- 21 metres at 1.9 g/t gold from 140 metres, including 4 metres at 6.8 g/t from 140 metres.
Point to large, high-grade opportunity
“These latest assays indicate a significant expansion of the high-grade gold mineralisation to the north of the historical, Golden Forty Mine,” Emmerson Resources managing director Rob Bills said.
“The host to this mineralisation has also been intersected at Golden Forty 40 East (G40E) and within the mine environment, which, depending on the results of the next batch of assays, suggests an emerging and larger, high-grade gold project, particularly as the mineralisation remains open in all directions.
“We await with anticipation the remainder of the assay results, in particular the diamond drill holes which indicate thickening of the magnetite-hematite alteration within the unmined portions of the G40 mine and continuation to G40 East.”
The new results follow previous results within the Golden Forty ore zone such as 6 metres at 41.2g/t gold in GFRC060 from 120 metres, including 4 metres at 60.6 g/t and 1-metre at 203 g/t.
Emmerson expects the results for the remaining 18 drill holes sometime in January to February next year, which will include the results from the diamond drilling portion of the program.
