Investing.com - Elon Musk has moved to dismiss his California state court lawsuit that alleged OpenAI, and its CEO Sam Altman had strayed from the startup's initial objective of creating artificial intelligence for the betterment of humanity rather than for profit.
The lawsuit, originally filed in California state court, accused the company and its CEO of deviating from OpenAI's initial mission of creating artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, rather than for profit.
Musk's attorneys requested the court to dismiss the lawsuit, which was initially filed in February, without providing a reason for the decision. This request was made in a filing in San Francisco Superior Court.
A Superior Court judge was set to consider OpenAI's request to dismiss the lawsuit at a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
Neither OpenAI nor Musk's attorney immediately responded to requests for comment about the lawsuit's dismissal.
Musk dismissed his case without prejudice, meaning he retains the option to refile the lawsuit at a later date.
